What to Expect with the New Acura Line This Spring

There is nothing like cruising down the highway in a brand-new Acura. These bold luxury vehicles are the pinnacle of class, offering precision-crafted performance, unsurpassed comfort, and exacting attention to detail.

Acura is constantly pushing the boundaries to create best-in-class vehicles, and their 2017 line is no different. Here are some of the exciting things you can expect from our new line this spring.

2017 Acura MDX

As one of Acura’s most popular models, this third-row luxury SUV gets new styling, additional standard features, and an all-new Sport Hybrid version for 2017.

The newly styled front of the MDX takes precision to the next level with a taller, more open diamond-shaped grille, which allows for better airflow. Complimenting the new grille are jewel-eye LED headlights, restyled fenders, fog lights, and hood. The back features chrome rocker panel trim and new dual tailpipes with bright finishers.Inside also saw some changes, with more standard features, including:

  • Electric parking break
  • 10-way power driver’s seat with memory settings
  • Tri-zone automatic climate control
  • Push button start
  • Bluetooth HandsfreeLink
  • Four USB ports

Captain’s chairs replace the second-row bench, dropping the seating from seven to six. However, an added center console houses two additional USB ports and cup holders. Additional standard safety features include:

  • Collision warning system with autonomous braking
  • Lane departure warning
  • Lane keep assist
  • Adaptive cruise control

The 2017 MDX now has 3 different powertrain options. The 290-hourspower 3.5L V6 comes in front-wheel and all-wheel drive with direct injection and a 9-speed sequential shift transmission. New for 2017 is the Acura MDX Sport Hybrid. The Sport Hybrid edition features an all-wheel drive system made up of three electric motors in the back and a 3.0-liter V6 engine up front for a combined 321 hp.

2017 Acura NSX

In 2017, Acura celebrates the return of its NSX sports car, which has been reborn after more than a decade off the radar. Named Road & Track’s 2017 Performance Car of the Year, the NSX stays true to the exotic original while improving on performance and style, resulting in one of the most advanced production cars ever built!

The new Acura NSX model combines supercar looks with hypercar technology, utilizing both gas and electric power to achieve maximum performance. This next-gen dream machine has a hybrid powertrain made up of three electric motors, a lithium-ion battery pack, a mid-mounted twin-turbocharged V6 engine, and a dual-clutch 9-speed automatic transmission for a combined total of 575 hp.

The exterior styling is filled with functional vents and air intakes for total airflow management. Every line of the body is sculpted for superior aerodynamic performance and carbon fiber materials provide strong, lightweight style. The NSX also comes with multi-element headlights and interwoven 5-spoke wheels.

The interior is surprisingly roomy and comfortable with an intuitive design that will fit almost any driver. Paying special attention to ergonomic support and freedom of movement, the cockpit uses minimalist materials to complement the engineered seating and steering. A handcrafted leather dash, black suede door panels, a natural seating arrangement, and excellent forward visibility top off this first-rate luxury supercar.

2017 Acura RLX

Acura’s flagship sedan is the most advanced performance sedan on the market. Riding the line between mid-size and full-size sedans, the RLX comes in either a gas-powered front-wheel drive or an all-wheel drive hybrid. The Sport Hybrid integrates a direct-injection V6 with three electric motors for superior acceleration and performance.

The best part about the 2017 RLX is that now the AcuraWatch safety system is now standard. This amazing system includes:

  • Lane departure warning and prevention
  • Rear cross-traffic alert
  • Forward collision warning with collision mitigation braking
  • Blind spot warning

2017 Acura RDX, ILX, and TLX

Though these luxury models remain relatively unchanged for spring, they do come in a variety of new color options. All three models now offer Lunar Silver and Modern Steel Metallic options, while the ILX and TLX also come in San Marino Red. The 2017 TLX now also has a track-inspired GT package that comes complete with a rear decklid spoiler, front, side, and rear underbody spoilers, and 19-in diamond cut wheels and tires.
